Pit stop at star petrol stations: Original Formula 1 show car on tour in Germany

05-06-2023

Attention Formula 1 fans: An original Formula 1 car, the Scuderia AlphaTauri AT04, will be making a pit stop at the star petrol stations in Elmshorn, Krefeld, Kelberg and Leipzig. The car can be admired up-close in its glass exhibition container for almost a week at each location. The show tour is accompanied by a varied supporting program that includes a racing simulator and a competition.

With this year being the 20th anniversary of ORLEN Deutschland, there are pit stops planned at the company headquarters in Elmshorn (Schleswig-Holstein), Krefeld (North Rhine-Westphalia), Kelberg (Rhineland-Palatinate) and Leipzig (Saxony). The car, which is a faithful reproduction of the original vehicle that featured in motorsport’s elite competition, will be on display in an illuminated exhibition container that is approx. 6 m long and 3 m high. The show tour is taking place for the third time and is part of the motorsport sponsorship by the Polish multi-energy group PKN ORLEN S.A., to which ORLEN Deutschland GmbH belongs as the operator of the star and ORLEN petrol stations. In addition to Germany, the lightning-fast car is also being exhibited in Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

“We are delighted to be able to present the Formula 1 car in Elmshorn – our company headquarters – and at three other locations in Germany during our anniversary year. Formula 1 is very popular all over the world, and the racing cars themselves are impressive automobiles. Seeing a real Formula 1 car up-close is a very special experience that our customers look forward to every year,” says Jarosław Marczak, CEO of ORLEN Deutschland. Scuderia AlphaTauri is a talent incubator where future champions take their first steps into Formula 1. The team is owned by Red Bull and helps acquaint its parent company’s drivers with the world’s most prestigious motorsport series. In the 2023 season, it will be Nyck de Vries (Netherlands) and Yuki Tsunoda (Japan) who will be driving the 370 km/h racing car.

In addition to the opportunity to take unique photos, there is a varied supporting program for visitors to take part in on site. Alongside the Formula 1 car, the petrol station tour will also feature a racing/pit stop simulator on the weekends – something that is sure to delight racing fans. Anyone who posts a picture of the on-display F1 car on the official star Instagram page (@star.tankstellen) between 1 June and 29 June 2023 will be automatically entered into the draw for 30 x €80 petrol vouchers.
